Bored at meetings and seminars?

Those of us who have ever had to attend a boring, long-winded conference or seminar or vile board meeting as part of our career ‘progression’ will know how tedious, boring and useless it all is.

Usually headed by some text-book, corporate-sucking windbag, we need somehow to alleviate the mind-numbing tedium.

Well, here is a game you can play that’s guaranteed to do just that!

It’s a variation of bingo, let’s call it Boardroom Bingo.

Take a card about, say A5 size and divide it into 25 squares with a felt pen.

Now in ordinary pen fill up the squares with the following words, one per square:

knowledge base
game plan
core competencies
synergy
strategic fit
24/7
best practice
bottom line
empower
inclusion
customer-centred
win-win
mindset
client focus
deliverables
benchmark
value-added
proactive
result-driven
think outside the box
fast track
solution
paradigm
leverage
disseminate

Now, as the meeting or seminar or whatever progresses, encircle with your preferred choice of marker each of the words as you encounter them from the speaker(s)

As soon as you have a line across, down or diagonally jump up and shout “BULLSHIT!”

(PS – It’s more fun if you get all your colleagues to play as well – watch the speaker’s face as everyone proceeds at varying points to achieve a line. The person to get their card completely filled is the winner, which they announce by shouting “COMPLETE AND UTTER BULLSHIT!”)
