Proclaiming Christmas Wishes

Three darling little children visit their elderly grandparents and it’s decided they should sleep over rather than make the long journey home as the snow begins to fall.

Mummy reminds them that they must say their prayers as she tucks them up in the guest room.

As she goes to bed herself she is appalled to hear them at their prayers, shouting at the top of their voices:

“I PRAY FOR A NEW MOUNTAIN BIKE!”
“I PRAY FOR A NEW XBOX!”
“I PRAY FOR A NEW TRAIN SET!”

Mummy goes into the room and rounds on them.

“For heaven’s sake there’s no need to shout your prayers! God isn’t deaf!”

“We know,” smiled the younger one, “But granny sure is!”
